How does Rainwater Harvesting work?

UK Rainwater Harvesting by StormsaverStormsaver offer Commercial Rainwater Harvesting for buildings of all sizes.  There are a number of options on offer for you and each works in a different way. All systems are manufactured to your specific requirements so can be tailored to suit.

Rainwater is channelled from the roof of the building into the storage tank, passing an integrated filter to remove large debris, leaves etc. Rainwater then enters the tank via an inlet calmer preventing disturbance to fine sediment on the base of the tank. Tanks can be positioned underground or above ground and can be manufactured as a single piece or sectional unit.

Excess rainwater flows out of an overflow which has a one-way valve and rodent protection to meet BS8515. The system is designed to skim surface particles bi-annually keeping water quality high.

Inside the tank are sensors and a submersible pump which on demand take water from the cleanest part of the tank through a floating suction filter supplying filtered rainwater to the break tank, unit or Pressurised control panel.

Filtered rainwater is then supplied to point of use on demand. It is possible to have one, or more, break tanks at any level in the building when combined with a booster unit sized for the specific building requirements.

Our products page has more information on the individual tanks and control panels and full data sheets are available for download.

We would also recommend you view our short 2 minute video which shows how the system works in more detail.
