WRAS Guidelines for Rainwater Harvesting
WRAS Guidelines. The Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) sets out best practice guidelines for rainwater harvesting under the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999.
The aims of this Guide are to support water conservation and to prevent reclaimed water systems from contaminating potable mains water supplies.
In order to ensure that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES can rainwater back up into the mains water supply, the appropriate AA or AB air gap must be used.
Stormsaver ensures that all our header tanks or mains water back up systems are compliant with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, which is why we always recommend you purchase the system as a complete package. We have attended sites before to replace tanks supplied by others which do not meet the Regulations because it was not designed for a rainwater harvesting system.
Stormsaver provide certified CPD sessions on best practice for rainwater harvesting. Find out more about CPD sessions here. Further details on the regulation can be found at here.
