A Big Moment for Team Stormsaver
About the Visit
Last week, we were delighted to welcome a group of policy advisors from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to our Nottinghamshire-based manufacturing site.
The visit was an important fact-finding opportunity, as the government has committed to further exploring water reuse, rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling technologies to increase the uptake of systems across the UK. The revised Environmental Improvement Plan, launched in late December, highlighted the potential for water reuse to play a key role in reducing stormwater runoff and helping to address the projected water shortfall of 5 billion litres per day by 2055.
During the visit, the group attended educational presentations delivered by our co-founders, Michael Farnsworth and Lisa Craven. These sessions covered the readiness of the market for rapid scalability, real-world case studies of successful implementation, and the current legislative landscape. The visit marked a significant milestone in Stormsaver’s history, as well as in the careers of our co-founders, who have collectively campaigned for more than 25 years to ensure manufacturers have a voice at the table.
Alongside the presentations, the group had the opportunity to see hands-on rainwater harvesting systems in action and being actively manufactured within our sustainable manufacturing hub.
We now look forward to the outcome of the all-important Part G consultation, expected in Spring 2026.
