WAGO UK & Ireland HQ
Project Overview
Stormsaver was tasked with providing a solution for delivering a reliable non-potable water supply to the new 62,000 sq ft office and manufacturing facility for WAGO UK & Ireland.
WAGO is one of the globe’s leading specialists in electrical connection technology for use in building and industrial automation, as well as electrical installations. As a sustainability-focused company, WAGO had a clear ambition for their new headquarters to be certified as BREEAM “Excellent”.
This level of certification represents one of the highest standards for sustainable buildings and was achieved thanks to investment in numerous sustainability technologies, including water reuse. This certification places the building in the top 10% in the UK for sustainability.

The Solution
Our solution for WAGO’s new HQ came in the form of a combined rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling system. Due to the bespoke nature of this system type, our estimators had to draw on their experience to develop a tailored solution.
They designed a system using our non-pressurised arrangement for rainwater harvesting and our packaged greywater recycling system. These technologies were integrated via a shared 15,000-litre header tank. This tank also includes an automatic mains water top-up function for periods of low rainfall or low greywater yield.
The rainwater harvesting element collects runoff from the building’s 3,000m² roof area, while the greywater recycling element collects water from 20 handwash basins within the building.
