Save Water Reliably

Component Replacement Solutions

Solenoid Valves

Crucial for the mains water up system, these can burn out or become overwhelmed with excessive debris.

Booster Pumps

Mechanical wear and tear over time can lead to the booster pumps or submersible pumps requiring replacement. These are essential to a reliable water supply.

Water Meters

Mechanical meters work by a rotating propeller which can, over time, experience wear and tear and require replacement in order to log data and detect faults early.

Float Switches

Hinges and moving parts within the float switches can lose effectiveness over time and stop detecting stored water levels resulting in system failures.

Reduce Costs & Disruption

Enhancement Solutions

Engineered for Reliability

Control Unit Replacements

The control unit is the “brain” of your rainwater harvesting system. Without it, your system will not function. Over time, these units naturally reach the end of their working life. Warning signs include an unreliable water supply to your toilets or irrigation points, or repeated component failures that interrupt your savings.

When this happens, a timely replacement is essential to keep your system running smoothly and to avoid costly disruptions.

At Stormsaver, we provide robust, high-quality control unit replacements designed for reliability. Our replacement solutions feature built-in fail-safe features to…

  • Minimise the risk of supply failures.
  • Minimise the risk of legionella growth.
  • Prevent wastage of mains water.

Reduce Ongoing Costs

Pipework Upgrade

Upgrading pipework is strongly recommended when the connections inside your underground tank are difficult to access.

If any of the pipework sits deeper than 300 mm below ground level, two engineers with confined space equipment are required for safe servicing. This significantly increases ongoing maintenance costs.

By upgrading your system so that all underground pipework is accessible within 300 mm of finished ground level, servicing becomes simpler, safer, and more cost-effective, requiring only one engineer.

Boost Energy Efficiency

Upgrade to Variable Speed Pumps

Many older rainwater harvesting systems still rely on outdated fixed speed pumps. While they get the job done, they run at full capacity all the time which uses more energy than necessary and places extra strain on your system.

Modern variable speed booster pumps are a smarter, more efficient solution. Unlike fixed speed pumps, they automatically adjust to your building’s water pressure requirements, delivering the right output of performance when it is needed.

By upgrading, you will benefit from…

  • 20–50% greater energy efficiency – reducing operating costs.
  • Smoother system operation – easing vibration and wear on pipework.
  • Longer equipment lifespan – reducing costs in the long-term.
  • Consistent water pressure – improving reliability of your system.

Remove 99.99% of Bacteria

UV Disinfection System Retrofit

For customers who need the highest standards of water quality, Stormsaver offers UV Disinfection System retrofits. This chemical-free treatment passes your harvested rainwater through ultraviolet light, eliminating up to 99.99% of harmful bacteria before the water reaches its point of use.

We particularly recommend UV disinfection for schools, hospitals, care homes, or any environment where rainwater is used in applications that may generate an aerosol, such as flushing toilets or irrigation systems.

As part of your service visit, our engineers will assess whether your system has the appropriate space and power requirements to accommodate a retrofit. If suitable, we’ll design and install a solution that gives you complete confidence in the safety of your rainwater supply.

Improve Water Quality

Filtration Enhancements

Water quality is a top priority in any rainwater harvesting system. If you’d like extra reassurance, Stormsaver can retrofit additional filtration to boost the performance of your existing system.

Our enhancements include in-line cotton wound filters and automatic backwash filtration systems, which add a valuable third stage of protection. These filters remove debris down to 35 microns, helping to deliver cleaner, clearer water to your points of use.

We particularly recommend this upgrade if you already use a UV disinfection system. Without an added filtration stage, particles can cause “shadowing” within the UV process, reducing its effectiveness. By installing our filtration enhancements, your UV disinfection will work at its full potential – keeping your water supply safe and reliable.

FAQs

Got a Question?

Can I upgrade parts of my system without replacing the whole setup?

Yes. In most cases, you don’t need to replace the main storage tank, even if your system is beyond economical repair. Instead, we typically upgrade or replace key components such as:

  • Control unit

  • Pumps and pipework within the storage tank

  • Filters

How can I prolong the life of my rainwater harvesting system?

The best way to extend the life of your system is with regular servicing. We recommend a full service every six months to keep all components working efficiently and to prevent costly repairs.

Do you provide warranty on replacements?

We provide 12 months warranty on replacements made by our trained engineers, providing the replacement has been maintained correctly. Please see our full conditions of sale for more information.
