Water scarcity, a global problem which requires a global solution and rainwater harvesting could be the solution!

It’s World Water Day! Water is the lifeblood of our society; from drinking to sanitation, water is essential to the whole population. But did you know we are currently experiencing a global water crisis? We are going to be using this week’s blog to highlight the issues of water scarcity, how we are helping to overcome the crisis, and debunk some of the myths around rainwater harvesting technologies.

The problemRainwater harvesint

Water, or a lack of it is, becoming a bigger issue than ever before. According to the United Nations, 2.3 billion people live in water stressed countries and this is only set to worsen. Currently, 55% of the population live in urban areas and this is predicted to increase to 68% by 2050. With increased urban living comes a greater demand on existing drinking water supplies. So, we must act now!

You may think the problem is restricted to countries with drier climates. However, the UK Environment Agency predict we will require 3.4 billion litres of extra water per day by 2050. That is nearly 19 million bathtubs worth of water EACH DAY! In areas of Southeast England, water scarcity is such problem that they are being described as ‘seriously water stressed' by the Environment Agency.

Problem, solved.

We’ve helped to reimagine the way we use water through technology. Instead of supplying our toilets, irrigation and vehicle washing facilities with drinking water, we are helping our customers to supply these devices with recycled rainwater. We don’t just mean a bucket under a downpipe… our market leading rainwater harvesting systems are the forefront of technology!

Of course, rainwater harvesting is just one part of the puzzle, and as a population we need to shift to saving water in everyday life. But we are proud that our systems help to save on average 5.2 billion litres of water a year!

One system, a world of possibilities

  • Save more than just water

The possible water savings are obvious, but did you know our systems use 83% less carbon than traditional drinking water supplies?

  • You are an environmental success

And what could be better than that? You can feel good that your organisation is helping towards a more sustainable future. Don’t forget to spread the word!

  • Impress your customers

Wow your customers by telling them that they are flushing with rainwater! They are guaranteed to be impressed at you commitment to the environment.
