Field Service Engineer

The Opportunity

Stormsaver are searching for the newest member of their growing team. This is an exciting role where the successful candidate will work alongside the Engineering Team and Operations Team to ensure water resue systems (rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling) are maintained to the highest standards, to assist our customers on their water saving journey

You will use your technical knowledge and skills to carry out servicing and remedial work at our clients sites across the UK, staying in hotels whilst you get to travel the country. You will provide advice and support on water reuse products and associated maintenance services to both clients and your colleagues. Your recommendations will assist colleagues with sales opportunities.

What to Expect

The majority of your time will be spent travelling and visiting client sites across the UK. Some of your time will also need be spent at the office, re-stocking your vehicle and assisting colleagues with technical queries. You will need to be able to access our headquarters on a regular basis but due to the national nature of the role, you do not necessarily need to be located in Nottinghamshire.

You will be given a schedule to follow each week, but you are responsible for managing your own time and using this for the benefit of the business. This may require longer hours than contracted in order to accommodate travel. You’ll often need to think of your feet and come up with solutions to problems, whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail and sound judgement skills.

You will support the wider team hit our annual targets by generating new opportunities through maintenance and remedial work recommendations.

Responsibilities
  • Service a range of rainwater reuse systems, including systems supplied by Stormsaver and by others.
  • Remedial works as required.
  • Installation and replacement of equipment as required.
  • Check the operation of the system, including PLC control unit, filtration devices, pumps and storage tanks.
  • Work closely with the sales team to raise sales opportunities for additional items, tank cleans and other Stormsaver services and products.
  • Carry out all works according to health and safety standards.
  • Ability to build a rapport with customers and explain technical information.
  • Carry out any administrative work which is associated with visits, including producing reports.
  • Any other reasonable tasks that may be required from time to time.
Skills

You will need to have:

  • Level 3 electrical qualification
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to travel around the UK and stay away from home up to 3 nights a week with hotels and food budget

Experience

Whilst not essential, it would be an advantage to have the following experience:

  • Mechanical or electrical maintenance
  • Mechanical or electrical installation
  • Working within the construction industry
  • Working within the water industry
  • Building client relationships
The Package
  • A full-time position which gives you the opportunity to travel the UK. Some days will require you to attend our offices based at Hockerton, near Southwell in Nottinghamshire.
  • All hotels are paid for, plus a daily food budget.
  • Varied starting wage options depending on level of experience, rising upon completion of training period.
  • Hours will depend on business needs, but we can guarantee a minimum of 40 hours per week as standard. Due to high demand for our services, we also have many opportunities for overtime available.
