We must act now

This week we have posted a series of short articles to raise awareness of the global water crisis that we are all facing and to present water reuse solutions to help mitigate this. Working together with Stormsaver, you can help your business to make a real difference. Industry and commerce, along with construction and manufacturing, are some of the biggest water consumers and it is time to push water to the top of the environmental agenda, alongside energy.

Demand for water will rise by 50% by 2030 due to growth in population, urbanization, and economic development. Demand will rise but the amount of available water will not… If we don’t change course, water demand will outstrip supply by 40% by 2030.

Currently, over 80% of wastewater generated by society flows back into the environment without being treated or reused. This has serious implications for ecosystem health and will have a costly impact on society.

By pursuing the ‘5Rs’ approach, and reducing, reusing, and recycling water, while recovering resources and replenishing water ecosystems, companies can create win-wins for their own operations, other water users, and the ecosystems they operate in and depend upon.

Stormsaver can help you to pursue the 5R’s approach… We offer rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling, and active attenuation systems.

Rainwater harvesting can reduce the amount of treated mains water used between 50-75%  and in some cases, even more. Check out our case studies to see sites that are saving around 90%!

Greywater recycling can help to reuse wastewater from showering and basins, by recycling it for non-potable uses, such as garden use and laundry.

You can help to prevent flooding at the same time as reusing stormwater through our active attenuation solutions combined with smart, weather monitoring technology.

And don’t forget that by reducing the amount of mains water you consume and reusing a free sustainable resource instead, you are also reducing your carbon footprint and meeting your sustainability goals.

Respect every drop of water by choosing to combat water shortages and use rainwater that falls freely outside, over mains water, to protect the environment.

We hope you have enjoyed this series of water reuse blogs. If you want to join us to act now to save the environment and save our future, or if you would like more information on how Stormsaver can help you to do your bit, then please visit our website or contact us on 01636 815254.
