Horizon House - Environment Agency HQ

Horizon House is the Environment Agencies National Office in Bristol City Centre.

The building is said to embody the environmental principles at the heart of the agencies work. As a result, Horizon House won the 2010 BREEAM Office Award for being one of the most environmentally friendly offices in the UK.

The rainwater harvesting system reduces the mains water consumption by collecting and storing rainwater for use in toilet flushing. The new building uses a great deal less mains water than the offices it replaced due to the water saving measures they have put in place.

This building was fitted with a non-pressurised rainwater harvesting system, these systems are suitable for a wide range of applications and buildings.

Managing Director - Phase Mechanical

“We have been involved in the specification and installation of Stormsaver rainwater harvesting systems now for over 10 years. Our very first experience of rainwater recovery was with the company and I remember Michael himself setting up and commissioning this system on site. What impre ...ssed me most even all those years ago was the company’s attention to detail, enthusiasm and professionalism and this has continued as the company has grown to what it is today.  We have no hesitation in saying our first call when it comes to rainwater recovery will be to Stormsaver, their prompt reaction, competitiveness and quality of equipment is second to none and they will always try to have the system fully commissioned when they leave the site.  We hope they continue the great work they have already done and we look forward to many more successful years working together to save even more water”

Alun Bevans - Senior Public Health Engineer at Arup

“We installed the Stormsaver domestic rainwater harvesting system 8 years ago. The savings on our mains water consumption have been amazing. We are a 4 person household, with 2 kids so lots of baths and clothes washing! We use around 56m3 of mains water a year the s ...ame as an average single person household without rainwater harvesting.  Our systems provides rainwater for toilets, laundry and irrigation and has reduced our water bill over £200 a year. I specialise in designing and building low energy housing and it is important that I not only research the best available products, but actual experience using them. The Stormsaver system has been simple to install and maintain with very good after market care, I will be using their product again.”

Charlie Luxton - Architect and TV Presenter

Every day I continue to be delighted with the results that the Stormsaver rainwater harvesting system is delivering. I tell everyone about it! We've even made our water meter public to show how much water we save!
