Following David Cameron’s
joint statement with Chris Huhne on tuesday, Managing Director of Stormsaver,
Michael Farnsworth, believes the Government is not doing enough and calls for a
rethink on its energy strategy.
Mr
Farnsworth commented: “At a time when everyone is acutely aware of the rising
prices and costs of utilities, the Government need to do everything it can to
reduce costs. They need to present alternatives to people.
“I
was disappointed that there was no mention of water saving initiatives.
Installing simple measures such as low flush systems or reusing rainwater for
laundry or toilet flushing can save up to 50% of an average family’s water
needs and up to £155 a year.
“Going forward - If
David Cameron is really keen on helping people reduce their bills down, I would
like to see him suggesting a complete solution - not just focussing on gas and
electricity.”
